It was forecast that overseas travel market would decline 30 percent if no measures were issued to help the tourism industry. Mr. Charoen Vang-ananont, president of the Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA), said a number of tourists going abroad would fall 30 percent between the first and the third quarter of this year.

The Tourism and Sports Ministry will ask the cabinet tomorrow for lending support of 5 billion baht to tourism entrepreneurs affected by the closure of Suvarnabhumi Airport late last year. Senior students who will graduate soon were worried about unemployment during the economic recession, according to a poll. Bangkok University surveyed 1,226 respondents from government-run and private universities in Bangkok and adjourning provinces. The survey totally covered twenty universities and was conducted during February 6-11.
